Florida Law and Rules - (1PDH)

This is a required course for all engineers seeking Florida licensure renewal for the next licensure period. It is approved by the Florida Board of Professional engineers to be offered on line or by correspondence as course #0000003 and fulfills the requirement for one of instruction on the Florida engineer licensure law and the rules of the board. As the course meets the NCEES continuing education guidelines of "a course with a clear purpose and objective that will maintain, improve or expand the skills or knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice" it is acceptable for credit in most jurisdictions.

Ethics I for Professional Engineers - (1PDH)

This course is designed to fulfill the requirements of 864 IAC 1.1-15-3(b) of the Indiana Board of Professional Engineers; Chapter 6, Paragraph 03 A (1) of the Maryland Board of Professional Engineers and has been approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers as course #0009948 under Rule 61G15-22.0101(5) by providing one hour of continuing education on ethics applicable to the practice of professional engineering. In addition this course may be used to fulfill one of the two hour ethics course requirements for Wisconsin under section A-E13.03(1)(b). The course reviews the approach of the study of ethics, five prominent theories of ethics and the application of these theories to serving the public as a Professional Engineer. The course concludes with an evaluation exam covering all three chapters of the text.

Common Sense Ethics - (1PDH)

This course is designed to fulfill the requirements of 864 IAC 1.1-15-3(b) of the Indiana Board of Professional Engineers and Chapter 6, Paragraph 03 A (1) of the Maryland Board of Professional Engineers by providing one hour of continuing education on ethics applicable to the practice of professional engineering as well as non-specific statutory requirements for courses in ethics in a number of other jurisdictions. Laws and Regulations Applicable to the Practice of Engineering in Maryland - (1PDH)

This course is designed to fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6, paragraph 03 A (1) by providing one hour of continuing education on the Maryland statutes and rules applicable to the practice of professional engineering. The course provides a thorough review of Subtitle 23, Chapter 6, paragraph 03 A (1) through a series of questions on each section of the Law and Rules that will prepare the student to correctly answer questions in the evaluation examination at the end of the course.

This course fulfills the specific requirement for one hour of continuing education relating to laws and regulations applicable to the practice of engineering in Maryland. As it is state specific it may not be acceptable for credit in other jurisdictions.

Approved Florida Building Code CourseA four hour advanced course on the Florida Building Code on Chapter 9, Building Fire Protection Systems, 2014 Florida Building Code 5th Edition. Green Development New - (4PDH)

From 1990-2000 Florida’s population grew by 23.5 percent, with an increase of three million people. Approximately 6,000 people move to Florida each week. Over the last five years, the number of new single-family detached homes built each year in the state has grown steadily from 117,310 in 2001 to 185,072 in 2004, making residential construction a primary driver of Florida’s economy (U.S. Census Bureau). As a direct consequence of this growth, demand for energy and water is steadily increasing and Florida’s natural environment is being rapidly transformed. Growth impacts Florida in many ways, from its schools, transportation system, and affordable housing market, to the quality of life for current and future Floridians. Such development pressures make Florida an excellent target for introducing sustainability as an integrated approach to addressing the state’s environmental, economic, and social needs. This course introduces the engineer to the components of sustainability or “Green Development”.
